Pink Cosmetics Solid Brush Cleaner Review

I’m sure I’m not the only who finds cleaning makeup tools to be a strenuous task sigh. Luckily, I now have a product that makes cleaning my makeup tools SO much easier, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t want the task of cleaning our makeup tools to be less strenuous? I know I do!

Over the years I’ve used everything from dishwashing liquid to the Beauty Blender solid cleanser to clean my beauty tools. The Beauty Blender liquid was my favorite sponge and brush cleaning soap, but it is just SO expensive. Realistically I cannot fork out R400+ to repurchase every time, and that just for cleaning make-up tools. Fortunately, Pink Cosmetics sent me their handmade Solid Brush Cleaner a few weeks ago. I’ve used it quite a bit now and am so excited to share this gem with all of you!

Claims (taken from Pink Cosmetics) :

“This solid brush and sponge cleaner removes even the most stubborn makeup, dirt, and germs. Conserve both water and product with this “natural” product.  Great for travelling, this compact cleaner is formulated with soothing cocoa butter & olive oil to condition gently as it rapidly breaks down excess residue and germs. It is lightly scented, free of sulphates and other skin irritants, and can be used daily without harming your brushes. It is the ideal cleaner for makeup artists and travelers alike. Choose from the 97% natural ingredients Pink peonie fragranced one or the 100% natural ingredients Lemongrass/Mint essential oils. This is BIG soap weighing in at 100 grams + ( the beauty blender soap is only 28 grams for comparison). Effective emollient formula quickly dissolves make-up and impurities to deep cleanse and condition your brush bristles for effortless professional brush cleaning. Lightly fragranced in Pink Peonie. Individually hand poured and hand crafted with a colorful soap embellishment on top of each one. This is to make it look pretty only and dissolves after first few washes.”

Ingredients:

Aqua, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Theobrama Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) , Sodium Hydroxide Fragrance, Sodium Lactate.

No Sulphates, No Parabens, No Petrochemicals.

Packaging:

The Solid Cleaner comes in a plastic round container with an unscrew-able lid. It holds roughly about 100grams of product WHOA

Can we just take a minute to appreciate the flower detail on the soap? I mean, how absolutely cute??? It reminds me so much of the Swirl And Sparkle brush cleaners Don’t they look similar? (Picture taken from the internet)

Performance:

It’s really easy to use this soap. I just wet the soap as well as my brush, swirl my brush in the soap and clean it with a brush egg or brush mat. When I’ve gotten rid of all the makeup on the brush, I rinse it and lay it down to dry. Simple! When I am done using the soap, I rinse if needed, let it air dry and close it up again.

The soap cleaned my brushes and Beauty Blender so, so well. It got rid of tough foundation stains and gel eyeliner in no time. It also left my brushes feeling soft and smelling so good! I am beyond pleased with the performance of this product. The little flower will dissolve after a few washes but that doesn’t make this product any less amazing.

Unbelievable, right!? I couldn’t believe how well the soap worked! shrieks in excitement

Some people don’t like make-up cleaners in containers. If you’re one of those people that’s completely fine, because you can decant the soap and rinse it after swirling each brush on it. No biggie. So you see, this brush soap is pretty amazing. There are 2 different variants. This one, which is the pink peonie and 97% natural, and the lemongrass/mint one with essential oils that is 100% natural.

Is It Worth It?

YES. Everyone who is everyone needs this in their life! It’s important to keep our make-up tools clean at all times. Compulsory, actually. This soap is 100% something you will make use out of making it worth your money. I love that it is parabens, sulphates and phthalates free.

Where To Purchase:

You can purchase these Solid Brush And Sponge Cleaners from Pink Cosmetics hereIt retails for R150 each, WAY cheaper than the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser and for way more product as well.

I know some of you might be thinking, “but baby shampoo is R30?” yes, baby shampoo is R30, but I have used it before and this product honestly works much, much better. With baby shampoo I used so much product because my foundation and eyeliner brushes were hard to clean. I think because it is also liquid, you tend to use more. Because this soap is solid, I find I use less. Also, this soap is natural, so it won’t harm your brushes or make them stiff/hard. The essential oils contained in these soaps conditions your brushes leaving them feeling soft, but not greasy at all.

Agreed! I also thought it looked like the lancome highlighter, the only difference being the flower size. The lancome highlighter is definitely a beauty! If I could get my hands on it (a girl can dream, lol) I probably wouldn’t use it. It’s WAY too pretty.

Wow! I had no idea this product even existed. I’ve tried using a number mber of different blush cleaning methods from liquid soap through to natural mixtures with olive oil and lemon, but none of these methods have proven satisfactory. I’d love to give this product a try and you are right- it is so much more affordable than the Beauty Blender cleanser and, due to its size, seems like great value for money. Your Before and After pictures have me excited. Thanks for another great review ✨

The picture of the beauty blender looking so squeaky clean was what convinced me. Wow! Just wow! I can’t believe the Beauty Blender liquid is R400 and this is only R150! Awesome review, Aisha 🙂
