Recent Makeup Haul #1

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my instastory a while ago wherein I asked all of you whether or not you wanted to see my recent makeup hauls/PR drops. The reason I asked this question, is because even though I love reading haul posts, I’ve never done one because I don’t want you (my readers) to think I am rubbing my new products/purchases in your face. I’m not that type of person and I would never want to show off my purchases for the sake of vanity. Yes, I know I am a beauty blogger and hauls and PR are a part of it, but I would never want anyone to feel like their makeup stash is inferior. I don’t want to seem boastful either, as modesty is a big part of Islam – my religion.

Before I became a beauty blogger I drooled and wished so very hard to own the things I saw on social media, so I know it can sometimes make one feel like somehow your life is less glamorous simply because of how small your makeup stash is. I know, it’s silly, but true.

After asking you all about a haul post, ninety percent of you said you would love to see my recent purchases. Note purchases, as in these are not PR drops, but rather purchased by myself. So, here we are, part 1 of a 2 part haul post. I hope you guys enjoy it showers everyone with flowers

Huda Beauty 3D Highlight Palette – Golden Sands

If you guys know me personally you’ll know I love Huda Beauty’s liquid lipsticks. When I saw this palette I wanted it so so badly, because the 3D concept had me pretty intrigued. It was quite expensive, so I had to save quite a bit and after a while I finally had enough to purchase this beauty.

Yes, I swatched it as soon as I received it. I just couldn’t resist! heart eyes

Available from The Makeup Networks here.

Colourpop ILUVSARAHII Pressed Powder Eyeshadow Palettes – $aucey & Chic-y

I haven’t tried any of Colourpop’s pressed eyeshadows yet, but when I saw these 2 palettes I knew I had to have them. I mean, the colors are SO me! I ordered a good few things (with a friend) directly from Colourpop last month. When we received our parcel though, one of my eyeshadows in the $aucy palette was broken. I tried to fix it but it just made a mess, so instead I threw the broken part of the eyeshadow away heart breaks. Because the one eyeshadow was broken my hands got dirty and I messed all over the palettes. It didn’t help that the broken shadow was the darkest color. It’s obvious because the palettes are white and after cleaning it many times, I finally had to accept that it just wouldn’t be completely white again. wipes tear

The colors are absolutely stunning though, and I’ve already been creating multiple looks with these palettes. It is limited edition so if you like the shades I highly recommend you pick it up.

It is currently on sale from the Colourpop website or a third party seller – The Makeup Networks here.

Kylie Cosmetics Koko Kollection Face Palette

I haven’t tried any of Kylie’s face powder products yet, so when the opportunity arose for me to get this palette, I jumped at it! I loved the Koko Kollection liquid lipsticks so I was eager to see if I would love this palette just as much. (check out my Koko Kollection Real vs Fake comparison post here)

Isn’t she lovely? cue singing voice The rose gold highlighter caught my eye immediately.

Available from Mel’s Beauty Gifts here.

Colourpop Crystal Liquid Highlighters – Amethyst & Aventurine

When I saw these new liquid highlighters from Colourpop I knew I wanted to try it. Their supershock highlighters and pressed powder duo face palettes were really great, so I was curious to see how these liquid variants would work. I also wanted to see if it would perhaps be a dupe for the CoverFX custom enhancer drops. Check out my review on it here.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and the highlighters even more so. I honestly was not expecting the highlighters to be this great, especially since it’s the first liquid highlighters released by Colourpop. I’m a little bummed because I wanted to order the 2 remaining shades as well, Rose Quartz and Aquamarine, but it was already sold out and so was the Crystal priming and setting sprays.

Available from the Colourpop website here.

I’ve used all of these products for the past 2 weeks and while some of them has pro’s and con’s, I am definitely happy with everything so far. Let me know which product you guys would like me to review first.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading about my latest additions. Part 2 of my haul will be up soon.

I love reading haul posts, but I agree that some bloggers can come off more as bragging than sharing. You don’t at all, I appreciate the sincerity in your writing! I’m so sorry to hear about your palette arriving damaged, is there anything Colourpop can do for you in this situation?
Enjoy your new products!! xx Cleia

Aww that means a lot to me – thank you.
I know some bloggers can come off as boastful, and I mean being a blogger doesn’t make you better than the next person, no matter how big your PR drops is or how much new makeup releases you own. It saddens me when I see other bloggers acting superior when in fact they aren’t. There are some really, REALLY sweet and lovely bloggers out there, so in no way am I throwing shade at anyone, but I have come across some bloggers who one might declare as metaphorical “thorns” , simply because of the way they portray themselves.

Thank you! I was so sad when my palette arrived broken. I haven’t actually emailed Colourpop regarding the situation, because I don’t think they replace broken products? Especially since my purchase was international? I will look into it though. Than you, Cleia. I will definitely enjoy these new goods! xxx

Isn’t she lovely….isn’t she wonderful….. See now what you’ve done???? lol. Start a song and this gal will sing along every time! lol

Thanks for addressing this…I feel the same way about hauls. They can start looking greedy or braggy, so I’ve also been toying with, do I do these posts…or don’t I. I don’t think you come off as braggy though and in the end, if readers don’t see the stuff from their favourite bloggers, how will they find out about some of the products? So see it as a Public Service ๐Ÿ˜‰

What lovely goodies you’ve picked up! Can’t wait for reviews on some of these!! Oh shame…I feel so for that eyeshadow you tried to save. At least you have something to work with. Great post!
