What’s New In My Makeup Bag | Blogger Collaboration

For today’s post I wanted to switch things up a bit, so my fellow blog friend from Always Cleia and I decided to collaborate on a blog post and show you guys what’s new in our makeup bags.

I’m very excited because this is the first time I’m collaborating on a blog post with someone outside of South Africa. Always Cleia is from Canada and I love her blog as well as her YouTube channel. She is so kind and extremely helpful. Click here to find out what she has in her makeup bag!

Currently, this is what I have in my makeup bag:

Colourpop Sweet Talk Palette Isn’t she a beauty!? I really tried so very hard to stay on a low buy and not purchase this palette, but I caved after I saw my friend doing a look with it. I’ve only tried it a few times so I cannot give a full review just yet, but it is absolutely gorgeous, that’s for sure.

Ciaté Eye Lustre in Cupid I got this in one of my Boxycharm boxes and I absolutely ADORE it. I’ve read some reviews of people saying it’s crumbly and not very good but I quite enjoy it. When you go in straight with the applicator on your eyes I can see how it will crumble, because if the bottom layer dries down while you’re applying more it can ball up and crumble.. Since I sheer it out that hasn’t happened to me. I apply some on the back of my hand/mixing plate and just dab it on my eyes. That way it’s sheer but still visible. I think It’s such a beautiful rose gold shade with a gold shift. Definitely very happy with this product.

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation I finally found a shade match for my skin color after YEARS. I love how thin this foundation is. My sister has also told me that she loves the way it looks on my skin, so it’s safe to say I’ll continue using it. Let me know if you guys would like a full review.

*Kangol Liquid EyelinerI’m not the biggest fan of liquid eyeliners because I prefer eyeliner pens, but this eyeliner from *Kangol has really surpassed my expectations. It’s the only eyeliner I’ve been using lately. Full review to come soon.

Catrice Fresh It Up PrimerI usually prefer a glow or pore filling primer but since it’s Winter here my skin is drier so I’ve been trying this new primer from Catrice. The consistency is quite nice. It does leave my skin soft and somewhat moisturized, but I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet.

Makeup Revolution Foundation Stick My friend Debbie gifted me this product along with some other goodies (thanks Debbie!). I’ve never tried a foundation to contour before so I was thrilled so finally do so. Since this is a stick foundation it seemed like a non mess straight forward product. It applies really, really easily and is creamy, but unfortunately it moves around my foundation when I blend it out. Perhaps I should try it with reverse contouring? I do love the shade. It’s in the shade F14 and is a great contouring shade for my skin tone.

L’Oréal Paradise MascaraNot a new item in my makeup bag but I prefer to use one mascara at a time so when 3 months passes and it isn’t finished I can toss it and try out another. Currently I’m using this paradise mascara and I have to say, I don’t think it’s worth the hype. I much prefer the L’Oréal False Lash Wings over this one.

I can never have only one lipstick in my makeup bag (a girl needs options) so I usually carry three.

I’m sure you can tell I love nude shades. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London is one of my favorite nude shades. It’s my default nude lipstick – you know, the nude lippy you can always count on.

The Pretty By Flomar lipstick in a beautiful warm nude and my very first lip product from the brand.

We are all familiar with Colourpop already. This shade, Good Karma is my go-to when I’m looking a bit tired and dull. Even when you’re not wearing makeup, I feel like a bright lip can do wonders to “brighten” up your face. Below are some swatches

Benefit Cosmetics Brow 24-HR Brow Setter A lovely product and I can see why it is so very hyped up. I’ve only ever tried the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel which is a HG product for me, but this one isn’t bad at all. The applicator grabs on really well, thus coating all of your eyebrow hairs. Thumbs up from me so far!

That’s all the new items in my makeup bag. Spot any of your favorites? What item do you always keep in your makeup bag? I’d love to hear all about it!

I’m sorry that I am SOO late on commenting on your post! Thank you so much for collaborating with me, it’s was a lot of fun!
The sweet talk palette is so beautiful, I’m so happy that you’re loving it too!
I’m going to have to try to use the Ciate eye lustre the same way that you do. I got a different shade of it and so far it hasn’t worked well for me, but maybe I need to sheer it out more.
I have the same revolution stick foundation but I haven’t tried using it for contouring. I hope you can find a way that works for you!
That colourpop lipstick is so pretty! I love their lippies. I haven’t tried the NYX soft matte lip creams but they’ve been recommended to me so many times that I should finally go and pick one up!
    I hope you’re having a great week x
